Media Credential Application Process Now Open for Largest CVI Event Ever

INDIO, Calif. (Dec. 17, 2025) – The Portland Thorns will face Angel City FC at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday, February 15 and the Houston Dash on Saturday, February 21 at 10:30 a.m. PT at the 2026 Coachella Valley Invitational (CVI) at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California which runs from February 7–21, the CVI announced today.

The Thorns are set for their third CVI participation since NWSL teams joined the preseason tournament in 2024 and will compete alongside eight other NWSL clubs in the 2026 edition: Angel City FC, Bay FC, Denver Summit FC, Houston Dash, Kansas City Current, San Diego Wave FC, Seattle Reign FC and Utah Royals FC.

With the addition of the LA Galaxy, Utah Royals, Bay FC, Kansas City Current, CVI will host 12 Major League Soccer (MLS) and 9 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) teams for its largest event ever. 2026 marks the FIFA World Cup’s return to U.S. soil and this year’s CVI not only builds momentum for the global tournament ahead but gives fans unprecedented access to the sport’s biggest stars.

Early Bird pricing is now available for General Admission Day Passes and will start at just $34. Pricing for General Admission Weekend Passes (Feb 7-8 and Feb 14-15) will start at $68. Pricing and savings vary by date. Early Bird Pricing ends January 5.

The NWSL participation has grown since last year's event, with 9 of its 16 teams training at one site. The Denver Summit FC will play their first-ever match, and Kansas City Current and Utah Royals will make their CVI debut, reinforcing the importance of the event for the NWSL clubs ahead of an exciting 2026 season.

Media Credential Application Process Now Open

The media credential application process for the 2026 Coachella Valley Invitational (CVI) is now open. This year, media can apply for an event credential, and if approved, will be required to RSVP for each event day that they plan to attend. Media credentials are required for all matches, and the deadline will be strictly enforced.  The deadline to submit applications for event coverage is Tuesday, Feb. 3. No credential applications or changes will be accepted after the deadline. Applying for credentials does not guarantee credentials will be approved. All applicants must be on assignment, and credentials per outlet will be limited. Media can access the online application at www.coachellavalleyinvitational.com/mediacredentials.
