Thorns Unbeaten Run Ends at 5 with Loss at Bay FC

Thorns now shift focus to next Sunday vs Washington Spirit as they look to defend five-match home unbeaten run.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Saturday, June 7, 2025) – Portland Thorns FC fell 1-0 on the road to Bay FC at PayPal Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Thorns would come out on the front foot to start the match, dominating the field of play with shot after shot while breaking down Bay’s opportunities in the Portland final third. However, Bay would strike first with a goal in the 39th minute to leave the Thorns with work to do going into halftime.

Returning from break, the Thorns would make several offensive changes to try and level the score. However, despite the team’s best efforts, the ball could not find itself into the back of the Bay net and the Thorns faced their first defeat in six league matches.

UP NEXT: After more than a month away from home, the Thorns return to Providence Park to celebrate Pride Night on Sunday, June 15, facing off against Washington Spirit at 1 pm PT on CBS and Paramount+.
