An NWSL rookie, Caiya Hanks joined Portland after a stellar collegiate career at Wake Forest University where she finished as a finalist for the coveted MAC Hermann Trophy after leading the Demon Deacons to their first ever NCAA DI National Championship Final in 2024.
After cementing herself in Wake Forest history books in goals, assists and points, Hanks will look to carry over her collegiate momentum to make an impact at the professional level with the Thorns.
Hanks’s strong start in the NWSL with the Thorns earned her a first spot to the U.S. Women’s U-23’s March “Futures Camp,” her first national team callup.
