
A second year Thorn, Jessie Fleming is prepared to build off her first NWSL season in which she made 25 appearances (21 starts) in midfield and tallied an assist for Portland.
She arrived in the Rose City in 2024 following a four-year stint in England with powerhouse Chelsea FC, where she won three consecutive Women’s Super Leagues, three consecutive Women’s FA Cups, an FA Women’s League Cup and a Women’s FA Community Shield as well as a runner-up finish in the 2020/21 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Since debuting for the Canada Women’s National Team at 15, Fleming has gone on to play in 145 games, scoring 20 goals, while assisting an additional 11 goals for Le Rouges. Fleming is a three-time Canada Women’s Player of the Year (2021, 2022, 2023) as well as a three-time U-20 Canada Women’s Player of the Year (2015, 2016, 2017) and the 2014 U-17 Canada Women’s Player of the Year. She also helped Canada secure the country’s first-ever Gold Medal at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and a Bronze Medal at the 2016 London Summer Olympics.
Fleming played collegiately at the University of California, Los Angeles for four seasons. She helped the Bruins clinch postseason appearances each year she was there, with a run to 2017 National Championship game and 2019 Final Four being the highlights of her time at UCLA.
